About the author

Priit Tammets is a web designer and media teacher. He is graduated Tallinn University, Tallinn, Interactive Media and Knowledge Environments master program in 2008. During the studies he took several additional courses from other universities like Paper Prototyping from University of Art and Design, Helsinki and Contemporary Media from Academy of Arts, Tallinn. His thesis described possibilities to visualize learning and teaching patterns in visual modeling languages like UML and YAWL. Additional presentation (and article) on the same topic were presented on the EDEN 2008 annual conference in Lisbon.

On years 2007-2010 Priit teached in secondary school Tallinna Lilleküla Gümnaasium where he brought his students a bit more closer to modern media creation process and tools. Practical lessons included movie editing with iMovie, desktop publishing in Pages and photo managing and editing in iPhoto. Starting in 2009 Priit has been involved in several Innovation Voucher Grant projects which are product development grants offered to small and medium sized Estonian enterprises. Expected results are increase of the number of SMEs cooperating with universities, research institutions and innovation service providers and applicability of knowledge created in universities and value for SMEs. Selected projects in Tallinn University are virtual bookshelf and book trading web application and background investigation search engine for construction and building companies. In terms of these projects Priit’s role has been interaction designer and project manager.
