After years of working with WordPress, modifying default themes and frameworks, I’ve finally ready to publish my own. Really, nothing fancy, very basic and minimal but still more than enough for quick start theme developing.
Base WP, as I call it, includes 6 files (footer.php, functions.php, header.php, index.php, sidebar.php and style.css), a screenshot image and image folder with an example logo file.
Functions.php includes support for custom menu, dynamic sidebar and post thumbnails which is very often all I need for simple setup. Stylesheet defines some visuals for elements and thats about it.
You are welcome to grab it from Assembla, play around with it. But keep in mind that it’s not ready-to-use theme and its main purpose is to give very minimal and fast starting point to more complex and polished theme development.
